Card Case

This small card case was commissioned as a 30th birthday present for a games-lover. Initially it began as a case to hold a luxury packs of cards but shortly after discussions with the client the idea evolved also to contain two dice and a cribbage style scoring board with pegs.

Timber choice was key in this project as the piece needed to have an heirloom feel and the durability to last generations to come. Fortunately, a beautiful piece of reclaimed British Oak with a distinctive colour and grain pattern had just arrived in the workshop and by keeping the use of metal hardware to a minimum we were able to give the piece a robust and timeless look.
