Sideboard

Birch Plywood

This sideboard was a fun way to work within limitations but still create a piece that is an interesting focal point of the room.  The client needed a sideboard in which to store their slowly growing collection of 12” and 7” vinyl records as well as their oversized books but wanted to avoid the typical “stacked square” layout frequently found on the high street.

Taking inspiration from the dimensions stipulated by the records we were able to come up with a layout that was visually playful and had a logical and pleasing flow. The records also influenced our choice in timber by opting for the exposed neat laminations of Birch Plywood which echoes the spines of the vinyl records all neatly lined up side by side.
